Lumia 530: the powerful entry to Windows Phone

The most affordable Lumia yet welcomes even more people to Windows Phone 8.1.

“We are moving quickly to help more people experience the uncompromised Lumia technologies, third party apps, and Microsoft services that we deliver on our flagship products, “ said Jo Harlow, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Devices Group. “Lumia 530 underscores our commitment to making affordable smartphones for everyone, and introducing more people to the best of Microsoft.”

Dressed to impress

Right out of the box the Lumia 530 delivers the most personal smartphone experience, thanks to Windows Phone 8.1.

Great features, such as Action Center, Word Flow, Cortana (where available) and personalised Start screen backgrounds are now available to everybody – no matter your budget.

At the heart, the Lumia 530 is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor that delivers a super fast and lag-free user experience of your favourite apps, gaming and internet browsing on the 4-inch LCD display.

For those that like to get stuff done on the move, you’ll have the celebrated Microsoft apps such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint – packaged as Microsoft Office always with you.

Furthermore and by power of the cloud, any new document you create or existing document you edit can be automatically synced, so you’ve always got the latest version no matter which device you access it from.

While 15GB of free cloud storage is available via OneDrive, Lumia 530’s on-board memory is expandable up to 128GB using a MicroSD memory card – that’s a lot of space to play with, and the best part is that you can store and use your apps and games directly from the memory card.

Single or Dual SIM

The Lumia 530 is designed with flexibility in mind.

Lumia 530 comes in both single SIM 3G and Smart Dual SIM 3G versions, so if you’re looking to ditch your second phone and consolidate your SIM cards into one phone, with the Dual SIM version you can.

Both versions are available in bright orange, bright green, white, dark grey. The shells are changeable so you can personalize your Lumia 530 to match your mood, or outfit.

If you’re into taking photos, Lumia 530 has a 5-megapixel camera and the leading imaging apps like Instagram to go with it. After you’ve captured the moment, make it even better with the new Creative Studio. And with the new GlamMe app, you can take voice guided, high quality selfies using the 5MP rear camera.

Alternatively, experiment with the little piece of Hollywood magic that is Cinemagraph, that creates moving images; part still, part animation.

More of a social person? Skype, WhatsApp, and Viber are all available from the Windows Phone Store to keep you connected.

The Lumia 530 Single SIM and Lumia 530 Dual SIM are expected to be priced at €85 before taxes and subsidies and on the highstreet for under €100. The Lumia 530 will be available globally, with rollout beginning in select markets in August 2014.
