Star wars behind the scenes

The Force may be with us now, but in 1977 when Star Wars was released nobody believed it would become the stuff of movie legend. In fact, when director George Lucas approached Universal Studios with the idea, four years earlier, they turned him down flat. His script, which originally included the young Luke Starkiller, was even dismissed by those who worked on it. James Earl Jones, the voice of Darth Vader, was so convinced the film would be a flop, he refused to allow his name in the original credits. Fortunately, the doubters were proved spectacularly wrong. To celebrate the triumph of creativity over skepticism, here’s a unique behind-the-scenes insight into the making of a movie masterpiece.
