Nokia Lumia 900 hands on and comparison

Taking a look around over the past few days, it’s clear to me that the Nokia Lumia 900 is still making waves around the world a couple of weeks after it was announced at CES.

The ripples have reached the shores of the UK with Chris Smith of T3 giving his thoughts on the phone.

‘Windows Phone truly arrived with the Nokia Lumia 800 and the new, larger and significantly 4G-enabled Nokia Lumia 900 is another step in the right direction for both companies’

Quite a bold statement, but he backs it up with some well-structured and reasoned observations. There is a clear correlation between the previously announced Lumia 800, and Chris draws the comparisons neatly, such as ‘the placing of the neatly-integrated, unobtrusive hard camera and volume keys’. If you think this is high praise, wait until he gets to the screen:

‘The 4.3-inch AMOLED screen is an absolute joy to behold. The colourful Windows Phone OS Live Tiles interface really shines through and practically beams from the device. The capacitive touchscreen was a pleasure to use’

There’s much more along these lines, well worth a couple of minutes of your time.

As the waves spread further from Las Vegas, they reached the shores of India and the guys at EFY Times who have produced a list of features important to users and examined how the Lumia 900 matches up to the Samsung Galaxy II. Quite factual, straightforward and informational.

For a post with some opinion, Jason Purdy has an amusing and informative post with quite the eye-grabbing headline:

‘Nokia Lumia 900: Better than the iPhone (Yes, Really)’

Where does he go from there? Well, it’s fair to say he’s a fan of the Lumia 900, and the post is a must-read, if only to come across nuggets like this:

‘I’ve used hundreds of phones over the years, but a rare few made me excited to open the box on launch day. I don’t say this lightly, but Nokia’s Lumia 900 unboxing experience is the best yet.’

So what are your thoughts on the Nokia Lumia 900? Are you as excited as Jason? As impressed as Chris? Let us know by dropping us a comment below (or there’s always Twitter @Nokia_Connects)
