When you buy a Nokia Lumia smartphone, you’ll notice it puts your friends at the centre of your smartphone experience, particularly with the People Hub. However, there’s also another person at the centre of your smartphone, and that’s you. That’s why Windows Phone comes equipped with the Me Card Live Tile, making it much quicker and easier to keep updated with your friends.

On every Windows Phone smartphone, you have the ability to post your updates to multiple networks all at the same time using the Me Card.

If you’ve not done so already, head to your People Hub and press your profile (photo) that appears at the top. It’s worth noting that you need to have signed into a social network to use these features.

From here you can see that you’ve got a variety of options when it comes to keeping up-to-date with your friends or family.

You can post an update to LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook simultaneously. This saves time when comparing it to stand alone social network apps.

If you’re into sharing your travelling experiences with your friends, checking in is easy, too. Just tap on the ‘check in’ text and you’ll be shown a list of local venues based on your current position. Once you’ve found the right venue, share it with your friends.

For those who like to chat in real-time using a messenger-like experience, you can set your chat availability to available. Your Facebook friends will now be able to see that you’re online and ready to chat, even though you’re away from your computer. And when you want to sign off, just set the chat status to offline.

Within the Me Card is also a Notification panel. This is where you’ll keep your ear to the ground and know when people are talking to (or about) you. It’ll show you when somebody mentioned you in a tweet or when somebody mentions you on Facebook. Whatever they’re saying, you’ll see it here.

To make sure that you’re always involved in the conversation, pin that Me Card Tile to your Start screen. Your then just one click away from posting updates or checking in to not one social site, but three, all at the same time.

All of this is available right out of the box with any Nokia Lumia Windows Phone powered smartphone, such as the Nokia Lumia 800, Lumia 920, Lumia 620, and Lumia 720.
