The recently launched Nokia 206 and Nokia 301 feature phones are great companions for the summer. They’re totally at home on the beach, at festivals and during sports activities. They have long-lasting batteries; they’re durable and they’re really easy to carry.

And now there’s a new, free app available from the Nokia Store that will make your life a little easier.

The Transfer app does exactly what the name suggests, moving your contacts from your smartphone onto your feature phone, and is especially well-suited for those people who have bought one of these models as a backup or holiday phone.

The app is specifically designed to work well with Windows Phone and Android devices, but will also work with other devices that use the industry Phone Book Access Profile and Phone Book Server Equipment standards. These include Nokia Symbian phones and Blackberry 10.

There are two steps to using the app. First you pair your Nokia phone with the phone that contains all your contacts, using Bluetooth. Then you import your contacts.

With an empty phone, the process will take less than a minute. On the other hand, if it has to compare a lot of contacts, then it will take longer. Since the app can’t tell which is the most up-to-date in the case of duplicated contacts, it will create a second address book entry in those cases.

Transfer is simple, fast and free. Give it a try and let us know how it works for you.
