Eye-opening photo apps for Nokia Asha 502 & Asha 503

The Nokia Asha 501 shook up the Asha range, but the introduction of the Nokia Asha 502 and Asha 503 has taken things to the next level when it comes to affordable smartphone photography.

Nokia’s latest Asha handsets both feature 5-megapixel cameras, and there are loads of great apps available to take full advantage.

Along with a higher resolution sensor, the Nokia Asha 502 and Asha 503 also boast a LED flash, making it possible to shoot even better photographs in low light conditions.

Here are some of the best apps for editing and sharing your images from your Asha phone:

Photogram

Photogram lets you change the look of your photographs, adjusting filters to make a difference to colours and effects. You can take a photograph from within the app itself, and you can also add filters to the images already in your Nokia’s photo gallery. Once you’re happy with the new filter, there’s a button to share via your social networks.

AnimationProVer3

Pressing the ‘Capture’ button using AnimationProV3 makes your Nokia Asha take up to five consecutive photographs, and you can also add effects. As with Photogram it’s possible to add filters to change the colours of your images, with the finished result saved as a .gif file.

Self Timer Camera

Self Timer Camera is the ideal app for taking ‘selfies’, offering an adjustable timer for your Nokia Asha’s camera. It’s incredibly simple and the interface looks great. You can even set it to take multiple photographs, just in case somebody moves during the first attempt.

Dukdik

Dukdik is a light-hearted app that lets you apply stickers over the top of existing photographs, or take new images from within the app and then add them. The app looks great, is easy to use, and it’s also easy to share the finished results on Facebook.

Photo Effects

Photo Effects provides a huge choice of animations that you can add to your photographs. You can add anything from a huge collection of glasses and sunglasses, to different hairstyles and hats, fake mouths and beards and lots of other things. The end result can be horrific (or humorous depending on your point of view), but it’s good fun trying!

SpotShot Camera FREE

SpotShot Camera lets you combine photographs with weather and location details. It’s not an app you’ll use every day, but it is fantastic for sending ‘wish-you-were-here’ photographs to friends, highlighting the fact that the weather is glorious while you’re away on holiday!

There’s also a new trio of apps in the the Nokia Store, in the form of PicFeed, Photofunia and PicTag. As we reported from Nokia World, PicFeed helps you to keep track of your favourite Instagram photographs, along with sharing content with friends and family.

Photofunia makes it possible to create photo montages from your images, with over 300 effects available. PicTag will also be a great addition for your Nokia Asha, tagging photographs so you can easily find them by name or keyword.
