Introducing Surface Pro 3

Regular readers of this blog already know why we think Surface Pro 3 is the tablet that can replace your laptop. For those new to the Surface family, it’s worth giving a sense of Surface Pro 3’s promise.

When we talk about Surface Pro 3, we always start with productivity, or said another way, the ability to get more done. But we don’t just mean it in the context of work. Because the truth is, our lives don’t fit into tidy columns. That’s not how life works. In real life, people reply to emails or tweet while they watch their favorite shows. Or capture moments of inspiration while reading a good book. Or view class notes side-by-side with the night’s homework. Surface Pro 3 removes the conflict between consuming or creating—it empowers you to do both.

People define productivity a billion different ways and now more than ever people want a PC capable of doing it all. Take a look at research we recently conducted in the Asia Pacific region showing burgeoning demand for hybrid devices. People want the ability to do more.

Surface Pro 3 delivers the productivity of a PC and the freedom of a tablet. Make no mistake, Surface Pro 3 packs the power of a high-end PC (you can read up on full device specs here) and when combined with the Surface Pro 3 Docking Station, it goes from the “tablet that can replace your laptop” to the “tablet that can replace your laptop and your desktop PC.” And even with its capabilities to do all this, Surface Pro 3 is still 30 percent thinner and 26 percent lighter than an 11-inch MacBook Air – and 40 percent lighter than the 13-inch MacBook Air.
