A 2014 Lumia look back

During 2014, we brought you news of the latest Lumia smartphones. Let’s take a look at the past 12 months for a catch-up on what we launched.

February

Lumia_Icon

We started our Lumia line-up with the Lumia Icon: a beautiful blend of aluminium frame, polycarbonate body and ceramic side keys.

The 5-inch 1080p Full-HD, ClearBlack, OLED display is a dream to look at.

Featuring a 20-megapixel PureView camera with ZEISS optics and four omnidirectional microphones that capture audio in full stereo, this makes the perfect smartphone for a budding photographer.

More details on the launch are here.

April

We launched three new devices in April, all on the same day: the Lumia 630, Lumia 635, and the Lumia 930, all featuring Windows Phone 8.1

Similar in style, the Lumia 630 and Lumia 635 set a new standard for affordable smartphones with quad-core processing and premium Microsoft experiences.

The Lumia 630 comes in single-SIM or dual-SIM models, giving a choice for those who might already have two SIM cards.

For those who like their connection speeds fast when they’re out and about, the Lumia 635 is the sportier, 4G/LTE version with go-faster stripes*.

We also launched the Lumia 930, our beautifully crafted flagship blending the best of Microsoft and Lumia with Windows Phone 8.1 and the latest in imaging with 20-megapixel PureView camera.

More details on these devices can be found here.

July

The Lumia 530, a powerful entry to Windows Phone 8.1, packed with Action Center, Word Flow, Cortana, as well as Microsoft Office went on sale at around €85 before taxes and subsidies–making it the most affordable Lumia at the time.

Both single and dual-SIM versions are available.

More details on the launch are here.

August

Lumia-1520_green

The Lumia 1520, originally launched at Nokia World in late 2013,makes another appearance, but this time in a new green color

This new matte green option (only available in the U.S.) for the Lumia 1520 offers the same features and functions as before: 6-inch display, 20-megapixel camera and integrated wireless charging with the added bonus that it comes loaded with Windows Phone 8.1.

All of the above (and more!) in a color that’ll make your friends green with envy.

More details on that are here.

September

Let September be known as the month that the selfie and Skype got even better on Lumia.

The Lumia 730 and Lumia 735 both come equipped with a Full-HD 5-megapixel wide-angle front-facing camera that captures everything around you with more clarity.

Check out all the details here.

September was also the month we launched our “affordable flagship,” the Lumia 830.

Crammed with innovative smarts such as a 10-megapixel PureView camera, ZEISS optics, it’s our thinnest and lightest Lumia to date. The Lumia 830’s lower price point also made it an attractive option for many.

More on that here.

November

This is the month we launched the Lumia 535, our first Microsoft Lumia device.

With a 5-inch screen, a 5-megapixel front-facing and rear-facing cameras and available in many vivid colors, the phone’s affordable price tag means you get more for your money.

All the details can be found here.
