I don't need 'sharing'. I need backup, and currently I get it from Amazon S3.

Has anything changed on this? Should I just quit asking, and forget about Skydrive as a backup solution?

I notice that within "All photos" there is the option to select multiple photos and use the "Move to" feature to move them en masse. however, I'd also like a "copy to" option as well - that way photos will stay in my "Skydrive camera roll" and also get copied to where ever I need them.

thanks

Like enable drag-and-drop using IE9! In order to do this on the Windows Server 2008 R2 I have to use Firefox or Chrome. It is just plain sad that Microsoft SkyDrive works better in non-Microsoft browsers!

Heck, even the nice animated bing pictures are not animated in IE (maybe 10, but not prior). This is sad because there have been animated pictures for months before IE 10 came out for Windows 7. Heck, even before Windows 8 came out and IE 9 was the "latest and greatest".

SkyDrive NEEDS to have IE get fixed, otherwise it will continue to be a slap in the face having Microsoft rely on their competitors to take advantage of Microsoft's product offering.

Why can't people outside US get excel surveys on SkyDrive.com?

If you guys want to be ahead of all services out there, allow us to do P2P sharing (ensuring MSFT servers would not be involved for the sharing of the files which are marked for P2P share) and let the developers run TFS (CVCS) & GIT (DVCS) on P2P & non-P2P repositories. You can imagine how many people shall embrace SkyDrive by implementing this application! After all its 2013 and its not a rocket science for companies like MSFT to make it happen (unless you are waiting for your competitors to take the lead again...))))

One issue though: there's still no very obvious way to get from the film strip view (as shown above) back to the file screen. My mom has called me twice trying to figure this out, and she's right that it's unclear and there's not even an option on screen in the current version, so I just tell her to hit the ESC key.

I see that a "return to all photos" is now present in the new version, but still pretty hard to find. You really should put this blue link in the upper left area, since the whole right side is very very busy with text, and that crucial navigation option can get lost. Or how about aligning with the windows 8 experience and put a big Back arrow in the upper left?

Some features I would like to see and would use are

Folder upload through the browser

View PDF files in the browser

Mile image editing capabilities (even if just rotate, crop and redeye)

Sync-over-LAN (as is available with Dropbox)

Ability to play music and video in the browser (a music player app?)

Easy attachment to emails

Easy save-to-Skydrive of email attachments

Some of the features I like is the keyboard integration and thumbnail view of pictures. I look forward to seeing the thumbnails of files.

I use a combination of SkyDrive, Dropbox and Ubuntu One (among many others that I try but not use on a daily basis) as SkyDrive only works for me with Windows, Ubuntu One only works with Ubuntu Linux and Dropbox works cross-platform and cross-distributions but is very limited in space (2GB vs 25GB w/SkyDrive).

Keep up the good work! Better to see any improvements than nothing!

I really love Skydrive but unfortunately had to stop using it (ditched it for DropBox) because the Skydrive desktop app was very slow, unreliable and demanded about 3-4 more power/performance than DropBox. This is bad on a laptop where the uploads should be fast & reliable (in case the laptop breaks) and use only few power (as it drains the battery). I am unhappy with my current solution (using Dropbox) as the sync between the Laptop, Lumia 920 and Surface is a lot more painful (but, again, more reliable and uses less performance). Please update the desktop client. Thank you!
