What’s Your Favorite Tech on the Beach?

What’s Your Favorite Tech on the Beach?

Memorial Day is the official kick-off to summer travel. Whether you are road-tripping, flying or cruising your way to summer bliss, you are likely taking your technology. As a girl with a huge amount of wanderlust, I know a thing or two about travelling. My hard and fast rules:

  1. Travel with something light and fast.
  2. Know you’ll likely have dodgy internet connections.
  3. Always back up your cameras on your PC as soon as possible.
  4. Do something that terrifies you.

I think travel is the best time to push your boundaries, try new things and capture all of your favorite moments. I recently took a trip to Belgium, France and Ireland searching for inspiration, meeting old friends and for a bit of rest. In the end, I never found time for resting but I did take a few great photos that you can see here, in SkyDrive.

I took two PCs with me, a point and shoot camera, a DSLR and a phone – but I might be a bit of a technology hog. If you are looking for great travel items to purchase, this slideshow showcases the best of what is currently on the market. Finally, check out this infographic to find out how other’s travel and what they do while travelling. How do you travel and with what?

    @Kristina

    Thanks for the post; the travel diagram is an awesome breakdown of technical resources used on vacation and travel.

    I was surprised to see that the laptop led over the smartphone by a small percentage, but again maybe that’s because I use my Windows Phone like a laptop.

    As far as Tech on the beach I tend to lean toward the water sports, and sand sports which keep us active most of the time.

    With my Windows smartphone it’s easy for me and the family to take photos and post while at play – I can’t help but worry a bit using my laptop on the beach with so much activity.

    Even though it’s all mobile the Windows phone is easier to slip in the pockets after capturing moments and posting.

    What really complements the whole experience is the power of Sky Drive; while we are at play snapping away the whole travel or vacation experience is saved on our laptops or PC devices.

    Thanks again for the post.
