Today I'm happy to share that invites have been distributed for a press conference with Steve Ballmer and Ralph de la Vega of AT&T that will happen October 11th in New York City. It will be an exciting day, and while we won’t yet have phones available for all to buy, that time is nearing! The day will include remarks from Steve Ballmer and Ralph de la Vega, a demonstration of the new Windows Phone 7 capabilities and a preview of several apps, as well as hands on time with the devices for attending media. Later in the day we will showcase all our consumer offerings at the Microsoft Open House press event that immediately follows the Windows Phone 7 press conference. Windows Phone 7 is nearly here!
Can non-press people attend any of these events? I would like to be able to view Windows Phone devices 1st hand as soon as I can.
Hey jaxim - this is a press only event but keep an eye here on the Windows Phone blog, I will post some stuff from the event. We are really close to getting you hands on! Just a little longer.
does anyone know what the update process is for windows phone 7 ? will there be updates monthly ? quarterly ?
or will they be as needed updates ...
Mark
thanks, Brian! I can't wait. As a long time Zune owner, I'm really hoping that Windows Phone takes off and there are more 3rd party devices (i.e. speakers) that communicate to Zunes and/or WinPhones. Hopefully the 3rd party devices will be able to communicate thru BOTH the Zune connector and whatever connector (mini USB?) that the WinPhone devices use.
Hi Jaxim. I am excited as well.
Hi, is it true Tmobile will also show off devices at the Open House Event? I am not switching to AT&T as I am quite omfortable with TMobile.
hopefully this conference was successful,
