Just a few minutes ago at the All Things D Asia conference, Windows Phone President Andy Lees gave the world its first look at AT&T’s new lineup of new Windows Phones. We talked speeds and feeds on the blog a few weeks ago, but that’s only one reason why you want the new HTC Titan, Samsung Focus S and Samsung Focus Flash. The other is that they’re simply beautiful.

Heads up! Samsung Focus S and Focus Flash will be released November 6th for $200 and $50, respectively: www.smartkeitai.com/samsung-focus-s-flash-windows-phones-hit-november-6

  • I'm so excited for the Focus S!!!!! That phone looks super sweet!!!!

Want to get a Titan for me and my family, but with Microsoft preventing manufactures from allowing expansion storage, I will unfortunately be turning down a good OS and Phones for another that has a sd slot. Come on Microsoft, don't copy iphone. That was one of the reason so many did not get the iphone. Just saying.

  • I'm willing to pay the cancelation fee to get out of my Verizon contract, which ends in February, in order to get my hands on one of these.  This will be my first smart phone, and I'm not willing to wait for Verizon to announce whether or not they're going to comptete in the WP7 market.  You snooze, you lose Verizon!

  • Just imagine a AT&T HTC Surround II with beats Audio. It's possible!

  • I am a long time fan of Windows 7 for the PC, the Zune HD and the Zune Marketplace. I have never liked or supported Apple in any way and never will. So of course my first real smartphone is going to be a Windows 7.5 phone. I just wish AT&T had UNLIMITED data like T-Mobile does. T-Mobile, as far as I know is the ONLY cell service worth mentioning that actually has unlimited data. But I supposed as long as you don't go voer your 2 GB of data streaming/downloading, then it is ok. I just cannot understand AT&T not having it as big as they are with the crappy iPhones they pawn off.

  • @tsrblke, then you may have found an unintended "feature".  I'm guessing, then, that you turned on "shuffle background" without actually having favorites chosen.  I guess that would mean that it will grab pics from everywhere.  I wonder if that's actually what's happening on @Rodney E. Jones' device.

    @ScubaDog2011 @Rodney E. Jones

FWIW, I have 0 pics as favorites and it just chooses from my entire colleciton at random.   I actually prefer that personally....

Just curious why don't we have a cursor in number field on dial screen? If we need to change one digit from number we need to erase the number till that digit and then re-dail! Or am I doing it wrong?

@ScubaDog2011 , @mrtimsmith I guess those Japanese guys are ahead of all others when it comes to storage capacity. 32 GBs in Fujitsu Toshiba IS12T.

    More detailed comparison on en.wikipedia.org/.../List_of_Windows_Phone_devices

  • This is amazing, I got word last night via Twitter and this news got me more excited than ever!! While Im still leaning towards the HTC Titan, The Focus S and Flash are definatley in contention, the latter only if it has expandable memory. Ive been running off of 8 GB on my KIN and it hasnt gotten in the way yet, so 16 on the Titan will be enough for my needs, especially with Skydrive!!  But I want to feel them all in my hands before I make the choice, however, Im still holding out for Nokia. Im currently a Verizon customer but my contract is up in November, so I can basically go anywhere i want, and I will to get the device I want.

  • Since I still have about one year on my contract I don't see getting one of these but I do like the Titan and even the Focus S.  Being a Focus (Gen1) user I have to agree with @shackdna  regarding storage.  I added a 32GB microSD and have not had an issue but the whole debate about it was ludicrous.  These are being purposed as phones as well as media players, storage has to be a key.

  • What's going on with Sprint and Verizon? Are they no longer participating in making new Windows Phones available. I'm receiving alot of questions from nervous users who feel that the lack of an announcements means they'll have to reluctantly abandon the platform.

  • These phones look amazing!  I really hope to get a next-gen Windows Phone soon, but it's gotta be on Verizon.  I'm not going to AT&T with their terrible service in my town. . . Sprint is even worse.

Also, I was playing around with my Zune HD today and was thinking how awesome it would be to have a WP7.5 that is the exact same size.

Can't wait for Nokia's announcements in a few days.

  • Okay, @Rodney E. Jones, I added three photos to my Favorites and set them to shuffle the background.  So far, the live tile has been dutifully going through a slideshow of those three photos.  No other pics from my plethora of photosare creeping in.  How many pictures do you have in your Favorites?  I'm wondering if there's a number threshold that somehow generates the problem.  I did read that if you want them used in Favorites for your background you have to make sure they are Saved to Phone.

  • @Rodney E. Jones, I hadn't even noticed that feature was added.  I'll set mine up and see if I can duplicate the issue you're having.

  • If there's not an option with 32 or 64GB of storage...i'm staying with the Focus + 32GB.

    Come on guys!

  • Good Collection here, but I am waiting for Nokia Windows Phone, Hope they get back to #1

  • Sweeeet!  I can't wait to see some thorough reviews on these devices.

SMH, the lack of news for CDMA phones is depressing, the Titan and Focus look great, and Mango is a great update

The Samsung Focus S looks hot! Samsung posted a hi-res press shot of both the S and Flash for those who want a crisp look: www.smartkeitai.com/att-samsung-focus-s-flash-and-htc-titan-windows-phones-photos

  • Off sub. I am seeing a glitch in the pictures hub. Some photos that are not added to my favorites are scrolling on the pictures hub tile. Not sure if this is normal. I am using a Samsung Focus with 7.5 Mango.

  • I'm with @mrtimsmith......someone PLEASE find the storage capcity of the Focus S.  I've seen that the Flash will be 8GB and the Titan has 16GB.  But, frankly, if the Focus S doesn't come in a 32GB flavor I'm going to have to pass.  I'm too tied to the 40GB on my current Focus.  The latest news has it that Nokia will announce more than one device, but that the 800 (aka Sea Ray?) will only be 3.7" screen.  Personally, for my tastes 4"-4.5" is the sweet spot.  The Titan is just a bit too large---if I wanted a tablet I'd get a tablet ;)   Of course, that's a totally subjective assessment.  Your mileage may vary ;)

    More options for Sprint please.

  • How about some love for us non-AT&T customers in the US? Verizon and Sprint have one choice each, and while they're both great phones, I'm dying to have a Titan-like phone on either carrier.

I really just want to know how the features differ amongst each handset, and how they'll compare to the devices already out now? Is landscape mode available? Can create playlists (and add songs to them) via the device? Will Bing Maps work better on them (real turn-by-turn navigation, syncing of favorite places w/ Bing.com, etc)? Will they be able to utilize GoogleMaps (they really should becuz Bing is failing, lol)?  Will Skydrive integration be improved? Will there be Mass Storage capabilities? Expandable memory? Improved voice command (plus integration with all search engines)? I could go on, but this will do for now, lol.

I just want to have access to the things that were on the old WindowsMobile platform, while enjoying the beauty and ease of this new user interface. I want my PocketPC back, lol!

I'm glad they moved the charging usb port from the top of the old samsung focus to the bottom of the new samsung focus S. Now we can use drop-in desktop charging cradles like decent folk

  • I too am waiting for the Nokia devices then it will be either the HTC Titan or a Nokia Device. We got a HTC Titan in house and Cris plans to review them ( s/w, h/w and user questions ) : www.1800pocketpc.com/.../23887

He seems to be quite impressed with the screen and there are some performance improvement in some area thanks to the 1.5 GHz processor.

One thing to note from the 1st image is that the black on the sammy devices look far superior to the one on the Titan

For those that want to keep their phone looking sleek but think its slippery or other issues I recommend gelaskins , the look is awesome and really makes the phone stick out and shine

  • Why won't you guys tell us what the storage specs are? Specifically for the Focus S. I have a bad feeling we're going to get screwed over like with every other recent Windows Phone and only get 16gb of storage. I hope not. That's an insult to users.

  • Had to get a body glove for my focus as it's slippery like an eel without. Will have to examine Titan and Focus S.

  • The Samsung Focus S looks awesome, but the lack of release dates is getting very concerning.  I do not have faith that I will get a Windoes Phone this year.

I much prefer the top/bottom curves of the original Focus to the boring flat style of the Focus S. Give me Focus S features in a Focus form factor!

In terms of build quality HTC titan looks way better and preferrable who want the large sized screen. Would be really nice if they come in around 4". The radar may have quild quality but has horrible design like the previous models. The foucs S just looks the copy kat of the old iphone 3gs. The fous flash just looks ugly, the side buttons just look ugly. The samung looks cheap plastic case. The original samsung focus is better in terms of hardware design and was able to offset the plastic feel with its standard 4" screen size. I am really getting sick of this tren either 3.7 or 4.3+. Nobody understand the man in the middle group like the middle class people often ignored in the big economy. So, people who don't like apple and their iphone models may not get the focus S. Looks like Nokia is going through the same trend in terms of specs while I belive they will not disappoint the users with their build quality and design.

hard to talk people/friends/family in the states into getting a win phone when there are no release dates!!! just sayin! hardware from a design stand point is more competitive this year! : ) good to see but hard to talk peope into waiting for hardware release (especially with iPhone and Android announcements going crazy) Verizon and Sprint are even worse than AT&T/T-mobile

  • @RehabMan, I am so not a fan of the plastic. It's what I loathe about my Samsung Focus. Just can't resist the cheapness of the feeling. But I see your point with the iPhone crowd. Except in my case, I was very much against using a case for that reason :) It took away what I loved about the phone haha. So never used a case for my iPhone 4.

  • I have the Samsung Focus currently.  Kind of wondering what the difference is with these new ones, even though I'll likely wait a while before upgrading.  My Focus works fine for what I do right now.

As for the plasticness of the Samsungs... I like it... It keeps the device insanely light.  I don't want to carry a brick in my pocket... not even a thin brick.  I want something as light as possible.

And I get a chuckle with these iPeople running around with their iPhone.  Beautiful metal chassis... wrapped in a... you guessed it... PLASTIC case.

  • mmmm....Samsung plasticus Devices! :) The Samsung Flash actually looks nice though. Glad to see the new phones coming out anyway.

Looking forward! Good times ahead with WP7!

From the pictures you an clearly see how the Samsungs got a better screen.

Though I like big screen,I think the focus S will be my next device,if Nokia doesn't put up something terrific

  • The decision for me will be whether to replace my Samsung Focus with a Samsung Focus S or a Nokia Sea Ray. Or I might just stick with my Focus.

A lot will depend on whether the new phones have SD-Card expansion slots.

  • Still waiting to hear what sort of new Windows Phone Love we are to get in Australia.. It's scarily quite from the Carriers (including Telstra the SUPPOSED Australian Premier Partner - that has never done any advertising for Windows Phones in 12 months)

  • Awesome! Can't wait for the official release and the Nokia phones! Big WP fan here.
