@BrianSeitz - Any cancellations for 1 more signup for Seattle event?
Just switched my registration from DC to Baltimore. Looking forward to it.
w00t! You are comeing to St. Louis! I'm signed up!!!
in miami . are they talking about "set" the nightclub
Microsoft take note. I am an avid Windows 7, Zune Marketplace, Xbox Live and Zune HD user. I love the Windows phones, but two main suggestions: 16 gb is really not enough internal memory and you need to make sure there are slots for micro SD storage cards.
I went to sign up, and then I saw the date for Houston... it's on a Monday... Oy. Nm... :(
@all, please vote for cursor in the phone dialer windowsphone.uservoice.com/.../2294827-cursor-in-phone-dialler-to-allow-editing and "Save and delete files from SkyDrive" windowsphone.uservoice.com/.../2316181-save-and-delete-files-from-skydrive-on-phone
all registered for the tour on Nov. 2 in my lovely city by the bay, San Francisco! can't wait to hear, meet, and see what's to come to this awesome phone! :D
Man, I wish I could go. I'm here in Seattle but flying out the next day in the early morning and need to pack the night before. Lamage.
I've signed up for the Washington, DC event. I've never attended anything like this so hopefully it'll be fun.
If the Nokia 900 really does come with those leaked specs, all I can say is..... Drool!
MS needs to give Ohio a look here...between Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, and even Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Detroit, Louisville...there are millions of people that live within just a few hours.
I wouldn't have minded no Columbus if at least there was one in Cincinnati or Cleveland...between the 3 cities there is 6+ million people in the Metropolitan areas. Plus when you figure the number of young corporate adults...Just saying for next time :)
Just my luck. Denver is on the list, but on the one day in November (not counting Thanksgiving) that I have a prior family commitment. *snap*
No Ohio??? Hello Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati... 7th most populous state...
I disagree, I've thrown a few private events in my time (I used to work for a university's events department, long story...) these things tend to be comparatively cheap as compared to producing and running a single ad. I could rough up some numbers (but won't ;) ), but it's a small part of any marketing budget.
Additionally I think (IMHO) that MS is conceeding some of the on air advertising to apple and droid, in the 30 second spot you get you kinda get lost in the crowd of phones, the goal here is to energize the fan base (yes, owners) to go out and get some person to person sales, which it seems is where the WP7 excells anyway. (People hate it until they actualy get their hands on it, then they love it!) So energize the fan base to get them to bring a few friends, or show a few friends the phone aftewards. It all adds up ;)
That being said, some of the ad campaigns have just flopped. I love the new Windows 7 ads I've seen during the world series (Why we need a dog, Tech-No, ect.) but when they feature the phone they do an aweful job of it (they do a great job with Office/Win 7 and Xbox) heck, had I not seen a WP7 up close and personal I wouldn't have known it was even in the ad, I'd just assumed MS was using "Generic Phone 1." Same goes for some of the product placement. I'm fairly certian I saw a WP7 in last week's "psych" but it was never featured as such.
@Sven and RobertGreenlee
If you log back in on that page it will take you to the confirmation page again, that seems to me the best way to to sure that it went through ;).
Not my city....BOOO :( How about a little Ohio love?? Cleveland? Columbus?
@ RobertGreenlee, same here registering for Denver. Would be nice to get some confirmation. Long drive for me to find out it didn't go through or something. Guess if they send me a reminder, I can assume I'm on the list.
Yippee, I'll be there in STL ready to write some stuff for "Blogging Is Dead" =]
When I finished registering for Denver is just said I'd be getting a reminder email 1-2 days prior to the event. No mention of a confirmation email or a text message. I expect they will just have a list at the door. I wish they would not have had it downtown Denver but it should still be fun.
hey all a couple answers.
Everyone who wants to come should register. It makes sure your name is on the list and will help ease people getting in. Space is limited so we need to account for all attendees.
In the cities where there is overlap with the night markets, you will be taken to a seperate registration page. Basically the first night of the night market events will be the Inner CIrcle event.
For issues getting your text ticket for those markets please send a note to firstname.lastname@example.org
So should I be expecting a text or e-mail with confirmation? Seems varied in the comments below (above?). I also have the question about bringing a friend (that I'm married to).
Hello everybody! I hate to be the party-pooper but I will… Am I the only one who doesn’t see this type of events as a priority? Of course, MS and everyone here can do with their money and time whatever they please to BUT for the sake of WP7; I ask, wouldn’t it be better if this money, effort, time and enthusiasm are redirected to implement an outstanding (the word good doesn’t even apply here) marketing campaign that will finally launch this platform to the universe of success.
Guess who’s going to attend this type of events (or at least the vast majority)? Bingo (ding, ding, ding…)!!! It’s going to be WP7 owners!!! So, who in the heck they are trying to (abstractly speaking) sale the phone to? Let’s be honest, this type of events only Apple can afford to host, only due to their success with iPhone.
I don’t know the rest of you BUT I hate to see the new iPhone commercials (nicely done), they show what their platform can do and as I watch every single task their phone can do, I can’t help my subconscience to say: “my WP7 can do that too”! Too bad my subconscience can’t say the same thing about MS’ marketing gurus…
Do you have to be 21 to attend? I certainly hope not :(
@ Carter Hooper...
Actually, New Orleans is a great idea! Colorful and lively phone in a colorful and lively city. Yes, they should bring it there, especially with the movie industry you guys have. It would be great advertising.
With my husbands crazy hours at work, coming to StL won't work for me after all.
I simply don't have anyone to watch my crazy brats.
You guys really should come to Little Rock. We have a presidential library that resembles a
Mobile Home!!! Its a must see =D
Oh man the ultimate phone deserves a party in the ultimate party city. Bring it home to New Orleans why don’t you?
I guess it would have to be NYC of Philly for me, ugh. I hate going into the city lol
I know Youngstown would never make the list so come to Pittsburgh or Cleveland! :)
I'm a little confused. There are Night Parties in Chicago on Nov 11 & 12, but the Inner Circle schedule above only lists Nov 11. I signed up for Nov 12 since I can make the 11th; does this mean I'm missing the Inner Circle tour?
The schedule is below. Note, for the cities that overlap with the Windows Phone night parties, the link will take you to a separate registration page.www.bestmonclercoats.com
@Brian Seitz, is this another one registration per person, or is one registration good for two people? I really wish you guys would support that if it's not the case. Most people are going to come in pairs, if not more.
Nashville I am suprised and now registered!
Awesome to see they added San Diego. See you guys there.
@Rodney - let me check in on that. thanks for the heads up.
I may have to go just to see Mango, Still waiting for ATT to let me have my update on my Surround.............
and waiting............and waiting................
I wish I could force mine but no luck there either.
Please Microsoft, give us a download site like we already use for Windows computers.
@ Brian Seitz .......Some of us are not getting the text message with the ticket. what should we do?
man... e'erybody always forgets MPLS :( bummer!
Why do you guys never come to Las Vegas? That is a perfect spot to visit
I would love to see Salt Lake City on this list "wink" "wink"
I am having trouble signing up. i created an account and chose my city, but it didnt send me a verification email, or take me to the facebook page. the site keeps saying go to sign in page, i sign in, and nothing happens
When we sign up, is it good for one or two people? I would like to bring my wife but not sure I have to bother signing her up or not.
@techSage Yeah, good idea, I'll resort to that if I don't get a response. I'd rather use my real email address, plus it would make sure that the event in Seattle has that one extra reserved spot available.
@CAVX You probably should just register in the correct city using another email address since as soon as you Sign In, you are just taken to the confirmation page for the event you already signed for under that email address.
Yayyyyyyyy!!!!!!! I just registered!!
Wow!! I was waiting for it. Hope to get the opportunity to meet the new windows phone
Read the title, then read the article. Yup. False advertising. Not coming to MY city. Shame.
Booo in your hometown you are doing it Thanksgiving Week?!
Any way to cancel a registration? I registered using my email address on my phone and I must have accidentally selected the wrong city when scrolling down. I can't cancel registration or register again under the same email address, so please let me know...I'd love to be there in the city I actually live in! :)
Woot! StL made the list.
And you dumped facebook as the registration form. (I was *THIS* close to getting an account, now I don't have to!) It's like this party screams, "Come here tsr."
And I shal, as I've signed up. I'll see whomever there. (Whomever, Whomever is)
Was hoping this announcement was about new cities outside the USA.. :(
