Windows Recession Sweepstakes #2: What’s Your Note?

This weekend I’m heading across the Cascades to the Gorge Amphitheater to hear Kings of Leon. The Gorge is a popular alternative to a Seattle arena show (local Dave Matthews plays it almost every year), and it’s only fitting that one of America’s most musical cities has one of the country’s premier music venues.

Microsoft is in love with music, so adding a Zune HD to the sweepstakes prize pack was a no brainer. Everyone deserves the world’s best music player and I’m absolutely certain that once you’ve given the Zune software and Zune Pass a shot you’ll never use another service. In Windows, we’re working to deepen our engagement with the electronic music community and showcase Windows 7’s spectacular capabilities as a platform to create music. If you’re just finding the Windows Experience Blog, here are two posts that are worth a read:

· Windows Finds a Beat

· Windows in the Mix at Sonar

Round two of the Windows Recession sweepstakes is now open! Starting at 6:00am PT today (July 15), comments will be open for 24 hours.

To enter to win Windows 7 Ultimate, Microsoft Office 2010 Home & Student and a 16 GB Zune HD, leave a comment letting us know who your favorite musical artist is right now. Around Windows PR, our favorites range from Calvin Harris to Lady Antebellum to Tegan and Sara (and Brandon insists I also call out Foo Fighters, Weezer and Jimmy Eat World since he has “a reputation to uphold”). We’ll pass the results on to the Zune team.

Remember, to find out when a new round of the sweepstakes opens you need to follow me, Brandon, the Windows Blog or Ben on Twitter (or check the Windows Experience Blog). Including today, there are still 9 chances to win! You also need to let us know in your blog comment how we can contact you. We strongly recommend you leave us your Twitter handle. If you must leave an email address that also works, but we advise against it – remember the blog is public space. Please don’t leave your address or phone number – we’ll get that from you offline if you win.

If you’re visiting the blog for the first time, you need to join to leave a comment. Just look at the upper right corner or the blog page and click the tab that says “Join”. As always, you can also check out the sweepstakes Terms & Conditions if you have any questions.

Good luck!
