Dell Expands Workstation Portfolio with new Laptops and Towers



Today Dell has announced some exciting new PCs in their Workstation lineup. These new machines include the M4800 and M6800 mobile workstations, and the T3610, T5610, and T7610 tower workstations. All of these new Dell Precision workstations will be available for purchase starting September 12, 2013.

Precision M6800, M6800 Covet, and M4700 Mobile Workstations

Here’s a breakdown of the features and specs for these laptops:

Dell Precision M4800:

  • Display options: 15.6″ HD (1366×768), 15.6″ Dell UltraSharp FHD (1920×1080) 15.6″ Dell UltraSharp QHD+ (3200×1800)
  • Graphics options: AMD FirePro M5100 2GB GDDR5 memory, NVIDIA Quadro K1100M or K2100M with 2GB GDDR5 memory
  • Processor options: 4th generation Intel Core i5 or Core i7, up to Core i7 Extreme Edition
  • Memory: 4 DIMM slots: up to 32GB 1600MHz or up to 16GB 1866MHz memory
  • Storage options: 7200 RPM HDD from 350GB to 1TB, SSD from 128GB to 512GB SATA 6Gb/s, Solid State Mini-Card storage device from 128GB to 512GB

Dell Precision M6800:

  • Display options: 17.3″ HD+(1600×900), 17.3″ FHD(1920×1080) Dell UltraSharp, 17.3″ FHD(1920×1080) Dell UltraSharp 10-point multi-touch
  • Graphics options: AMD FirePro M6100 Mobility Pro with 2GB GDDR5 memory, NVIDIA Quadro K3100M or K4100M with 4GB GDDR5 dedicated memory, NVIDIA Quadro K5100M with 8GB GDDR5 memory
  • Processor options: 4th generation Intel Core i5 or Core i7, up to Core i7 Extreme Edition
  • Memory: 4 DIMM slots: up to 32GB 1600MHz or up to 16GB 1866MHz memory
  • Storage options: 7200 RPM HDD from 350GB to 1TB, SSD from 128GB to 512GB SATA 6Gb/s, Solid State Mini-Card storage device from 128GB to 512GB

Dell Precision T5610:

  • Processor: One or two Intel Xeon E5-2600 v2 up to 10 cores
  • Graphics: NVIDIA Quadro or AMD FirePro (broad selection)
  • Memory: Up to 128GB 1866MHz ECC RDIMM memory
  • Storage: SATA 7200RPM HDD up to 3.0TB, SATA 10,000RPM HDD up to 500GB, SAS 10,000 HDD up to 900GB, SAS 15,000RPM up to 300GB, SSD up to 512GB, PCIe SSD up to 350GB

Dell Precision T7610:

  • Processor: One or two Intel Xeon E5-2600 v2 up to 12 cores
  • Graphics: NVIDIA Quadro or AMD FirePro (broad selection)
  • Memory: Up to 256GB 1866MHz quad-channel ECC memory (512GB coming soon)
  • Storage: SATA 7200RPM HDD up to 3.0TB, SATA 10,000RPM HDD up to 500GB, SAS 10,000 HDD up to 900GB, SAS 15,000RPM up to 300GB, SSD up to 512GB, PCIe SSD up to 350GB

These new tower workstations all feature:

  • Factory installed Windows 8 Pro 64-bit Operating System
  • Intel Cache Acceleration Software for increased storage performance
  • PCIe Solid State Drives (SSDs) that yield faster storage compared to SATA-based drive technology
  • Dell Performance Optimizer
  • Comprehensive ISV certification so that you know your apps will work properly on these workstation PCs

These new Dell Precision workstation tower PCs offer great new features, capabilities, and performance. I’d love to try out the maxed out 256GB T7610 model since you can never get too much RAM!

All of the PCs covered in this blog post will be available starting September 12, 2013 with prices starting at $1,099 for the T3610, $2,729 for the T5610, $3,059 for the T7610, $1,249 for the M4800 and $1,599 for the M6800.
