HP announces its most powerful workstation PCs yet



HP has announced new powerful HP Z Desktops and HP ZBook Mobile Workstations. HP’s family Z Workstations are built specifically for the needs of professionals working in industries like media and entertainment, graphic design, photography, architecture, and others that require intensive computing capabilities.

The new HP Z840, Z640 and Z440 desktop workstations feature the latest Intel Xeon processors and come with NVIDIA and AMD professional graphics options. These workstations also offer 14 percent faster DDR4 memory for improved performance. The HP Z640 offers up to 50 percent more discrete processor cores and 33 percent more memory just to give you an idea of performance of these machines. Each of these desktop workstations are designed to be easily expandable – they offer a tool-less chassis (you can open up the workstation easily without he need of tools), integrated handles, and a visually cable-less design (cables are out of sight and out of mind). The HP Z840 provides 7 expansion slots, up to 10 expansion bays, 16 memory slots and support for up to 2 TB of memory for example. These desktop workstations will also come with a charging port for mobile devices and Thunderbolt 2.

The HP Z440, Z640 and Z840 desktop workstations are expected to be available worldwide beginning in October and pricing starts at $1,299 (U.S.) for the Z440, $1,759 (U.S.) for the Z640, and $2,399 (U.S.) for the Z840.

HP is also introducing the 15-inch HP ZBook 15 G2 and17.3-inch HP ZBook 17 G2 mobile workstations. These new mobile workstations include optional Intel quad-core processors as well as NVIDIA Quadro and AMD FirePro professional graphics that are ISV-certified. The ZBook 15 G2 has a stunning 3200×1800 Quad-HD display. And the ZBook 17 G2 supports an optional HP DreamColor display in additional to its 17.3-inch diagonal display. Both also come with Thunderbolt 2.

The HP ZBook 15 G2 and ZBook 17 G2 mobile workstations are expected to be available worldwide beginning in late September and pricing starts at $1,499 (U.S.) for the HP ZBook 15 G2 and $1,749 (U.S.) for the ZBook 17 G2.
