Lenovo announces YOGA 3 Pro & YOGA Tablet 2

Today, Lenovo has announced two new convertible PCs – the YOGA 3 Pro and YOGA Tablet 2.

The YOGA 2 Pro was thin-and-light but the new YOGA 3 Pro is even thinner and lighter. The YOGA 3 Pro shaves off nearly 17 percent of its predecessor’s frame as is only 12.8mm thin. That’s thinner than a pencil when opened. And it also weighs 14 percent lighter than its predecessor at only 1.19kg which is lighter than a bottle of water. So how did Lenovo accomplish this? The YOGA 3 Pro has a new watchband hinge built from more than 800 pieces of steel and aluminum.

Lenovo’s engineers completely redesigned the original YOGA hinge so that it now has the same that it has the same degree of flexibility and flatness as seen in metallic watch bands – which is why they are calling it a “watchband hinge”. The YOGA 3 Pro design comes in 3 colors: Clementine Orange, Platinum Silver or Champagne Gold.

The YOGA 3 Pro comes with a beautiful 13.3-inch QHD+ 3200×1800 display built with Gorilla Glass for durability. The screen looks amazing for doing things in all four modes – Laptop mode, Stand mode, Tent mode or Tablet mode. You not only get stunning video from the YOGA 3 Pro, but also stunning audio with premium JBL speakers with Waves Audio that automatically adjust depending on what mode the YOGA 3 Pro is in so that you get great audio even if the speakers aren’t facing the user.

On the inside, the YOGA 3 Pro is powered with up to an Intel Core M processor with Intel integrated graphics and up to a 512GB SSD for storage boasting 9 hours of battery life. It also comes with 802.11 a/c wireless.

The Lenovo YOGA 3 Pro will be available beginning at the end of October in Best Buy stores and www.lenovo.com starting at $1,349 (U.S.).
