As part of the Windows 10 Creators Update, we shared our goal to bring 3D to everyone and to empower you to create, play and share in a new dimension with the launch of Paint 3D.

Whether you’re a professional or just wanting to express yourself creatively, Paint 3D is available to all skill levels and backgrounds, and with the Remix 3D online community, you can choose to start from scratch or be inspired by others. Now with editing in 3D View mode, creating in 3D has never been easier.

3D View enables you to edit from any angle, which means even more accurate and intuitive 3D creation. You can now orbit around your 3D designs and continue doodling, painting or stickering without having to switch back to the 2D camera. This means, if you’re creating a 3D replica of Earth, you can continue rotating around the planet with no interruptions in your work! Today, we’re sharing some quick tips for getting started with this new update.

View and edit your creation from multiple angles

Switching to 3D View is a great way to admire your work from different perspectives. In 3D View, you can orbit, pan and zoom around your 3D creation to get a better look at it.

As you move around, you’ll see our familiar selection box, which will automatically twist so that it’s always facing you.

The angle of the box shows you the direction your models will move and scale.

You will also see the new selection highlight, which enables you to always see your models, even if they are behind something else.

You can keep adding new objects, continue painting with different brushes, or put stickers on your work – all while remaining in your desired viewpoint.
