What’s in a legend?

GLOBAL – Today sees a brand new campaign kick off telling the story of some rather interesting Nokia Legends. Designed to show off Nokia’s technology leadership credentials, eight videos form the campaigns backbone, each exploring technology that’s about to come out, due out in the next year or two or is simply an interesting piece of research. The idea is pretty straightforward, show how real some stuff that might seem unreal actually is. And, tell those technology’s stories. This goes well beyond acronyms and stats, planting new technology right into the palms of regular folks.

The eight videos all appear on a campaign site dubbed www.legendstelegraph.com. The site itself is designed like an old newspaper (hence the telegraph bit). Each video has been shot in English, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese, with Ron McLarty (Spencer for Hire, Law and Order) taking the reigns as chief story teller for the English version.

Interaction goes beyond the video though with one of the videos offering a chance to be customised before sending it off to your friends. Once you’ve watched all eight videos too, there are a series of puzzles to complete.

We caught up with Ross Lamont, one of the people behind the project, so we’ll have an interview with him here later on. Meanwhile, get over to www.legendstelegraph.com and check out the vids. Don’t forget to let us know what you think, too.

UPDATE: Who can be first to spot the reference to Nokia’s history on the paper?
