GLOBAL – It’s only been a couple of months since the Nokia N86 8MP was unveiled, but already it’s bagged a prestigious industry award from TIPA (Technical Image Press Association). Picking up the Best Mobile Imaging Device in 2009, the N86 has instantly made a splash amongst what is viewed in photography as one of the most influential organisations.This is great news for the N86 8MP. And of course, imaging is what the device is all about. With eight megapixels to play with, big crisp images are the order of the day. But it isn’t just about pixel count. The device also packs a wide angle Carl Zeiss Tessar lens, which enables users to shoot panoramic shots. Every snap can be Geotagged and it’s easy to upload them to online photo sharing sites such as Ovi or Flickr.
The awards, set up by TIPA member magazines, cover a wide range of photography related products. Editors from each magazine form the General Assembly which then decides which products are considered for voting. Innovation, cutting edge technology, design, ergonomics, ease-of-use, price and performance are all taken into consideration during the judging and voting process. Only one product in each category is chosen annually to carry the award badge.
