Ovi Maps for mobile is all grown up

GLOBAL – Not to get all misty-eyed, but it’s great to see Ovi Maps for mobile finally graduate from almost eight months of Beta Labs learning to become a fully fledged and officially launched service.

It’s been a project fueled with innovative thinking and supported by a fantastic array of active feedback from the ever-engaged Beta Labs community. One member of the Maps team, Kee, has written a short piece on the Beta Labs blog highlighting what they’ve learned from the development and the significance of the suggestions offered by the Beta Labs readership. Read on to find out more, and to get the full lowdown on Ovi Maps for mobile.

Here’s a snapshot of what Kee from the Maps team had to say about developing Ovi Maps for Mobile with the support of the Beta Labs community, and how feedback will continue to be important post-launch:

“Within Beta Labs, the Ovi Maps for mobile page was clearly the most active and we were completely overwhelmed with the number of discussion threads… we do welcome your suggestions to improve Ovi Maps for mobile and even if it hasn’t been included into this final release, we will collate it and take it into account for the future releases. We thank you all for your contributions… this has really made a real difference to the development team in improving the application.”
