Have you ever sent a text to the person the text was about?

oopsGLOBAL – I know I have, and pretty much everyone I’ve spoken to about this has too. Last weekend I saw Irish comedian David O’Docherty perform in London and in the midst of his hilarious act, he sang a song about this very subject. It’s so easy to do, either because of the way you name your contacts or that subliminal thing where you simply put the person’s name you’re writing about in because you’re thinking about them.

Whatever way it happens, it can be hugely embarrassing. There’s nothing quite like that sudden feeling of dread when you realise what you’ve done, and that there’s genuinely no way back. Of course, depending on the severity, some smooth talkers might be able to wheedle their way out of it. For most though, it brings an end to friendships, the start to family rows and a whole bucketload of feeling a bit stupid.

So, has this ever happened to you? What did you do? How did you overcome it and most importantly, what was the reaction? Share your tales here and we might be able to find something in the Conversations goody cupboard for the best one.
