MyDailyApp highlights – Weight Tracker Touch, Smart Yoga Pro and Avatar

AvatarGLOBAL – It’s a brand new decade here on Nokia Conversations, but when it comes to Ovi Store, there’s no change: just more great apps to choose from every week. Our friends over at OviDailyApp have been continuing their sterling work in writing up a great new app every day, and as usual we’ve got last week’s best right here. And, if like us you overdid the celebrations a bit over the festive season, you’ll forgive the decidedly detox-themed approach to our selection.

First up is Weight Tracker Touch, just the ticket for anyone that overindulged a little on the mince pies and chocolates over Christmas.

The key to losing weight effectively is to shed a small amount over a sustained period, and Weight Tracker Touch encourages you to keep up your efforts by charting your weight on a visual scale to help you keep that discipline and watch the pounds melt away.

What’s more, it’s a free download for any Symbian S60 5th edition handset.

Next up we have Smart Yoga Pro from Migital. Yoga can be hugely beneficial for people young and old, including pregnant women, but correct technique is vital to unlocking its potential and avoiding danger. Smart Yoga Pro makes for the perfect yoga partner thanks to a range of guides, tips and diagrams to make sure you’re doing it properly.

Content is structured by age group, with a dedicated section for pregnant women, and there’s plenty of more advanced content for anyone looking to take things to the next level.

Smart Yoga Pro costs $4.99 / £4 from Ovi Store and works on Symbian S60 5th edition devices.

Our final highlight this week has nothing to do with new year’s resolutions – instead it’s the mobile game of Avatar, one of 2009’s biggest box office blockbusters.

In the official game of James Cameron’s visual spectacular, made by Gameloft, you explore the world of Pandora playing as main character Jake, with the game delivering all the jaw-dropping graphics seen on the big screen. Save for the 3D bits, of course. Gameplay is as intuitive as it gets – check out the video below for a demo:

Avatar is available for all Nokia Symbian S60 5th Edition handsets, and costs $2.99 / £3 to download from Ovi Store.
