Naming the baby and some other bits

5. Week-round-upLONDON, England – Over the last two days Rhiain has been trawling the suggested names for the Design by Community project. We have 148 entries to choose from, and we’ve come up with what we think is the fairest way of giving you the chance to choose them. Starting on Monday, we’ll present a poll with the first 30 names. Voting will be open for 24 hours at which point we’ll put up a new poll with the next 30 names, by Friday next week we’ll have run five polls. You’ll be able to vote for your three favourite names in each poll. When the first round of voting is finished, we’ll then take the top three from each poll and put them into a shortlist for the final vote to find a winner. Sound complicated? It is, a bit. But we’re confident it’ll be fair to all those who put names (and reasons) forward and give you the best opportunity to choose your favourites.

Now, things have been a little quiet on here today. That’s ’cause we’ve been in a Nokia Conversations workshop for the last two days, working out what we’re going to do over the next few months. The good news is we’ve got a bunch of exciting things coming up on the site, many of which will involve you directly. No, we’re not hinting at new products or services, but some potential changes to Conversations. More on that later. The bad news is that there is no news. Sorry, normal service will resume tomorrow.
