JAKARTA, Indonesia – Thousands turned out for the arrival of the Nokia C3 in Indonesia at the weekend, causing long queues at a series of special events held there. Across 10 cities including Jakarta, Bandung and Yogyakarta folks undeterred by the rain waited patiently to get their hands on the new device. The events, held on Saturday, gave the new C3 owners the chance to pick the device up for a special price, before it hit general sale on Sunday.
The Nokia C3 is the most affordable QWERTY device ever to come out of Espoo. Based on the same form factor as the now legendary E71 and E72. Inspired by its elder brethren, the C3 brings messaging to the masses, coming as it does with Ovi Mail pre-installed so users can get up and running on email in a snap. It’s also a plenty capable snapper and with GPRS and WiFi on board is perfect for sharing pictures, too. Users can also access their favourite social networks, such as Facebook and Twitter, right from the homescreen.
Indonesia scored with the folks there being the first in the world to get their hands on the device which will be going on sale in other countries, including the UK, over the coming weeks.
