Nokia backs 1GOAL campaign

onegoal_picGLOBAL – Who knew football and education had a link, apart from in the playground? It does now. Nokia has joined global players of the beautiful game as part of the brand new 1GOAL campaign. 1GOAL’s simple manifesto is to ensure that every child in the world has the opportunity to receive a quality education. Find out after the jump how Nokia is educating us about the 1GOAL campaign.

It’s all ‘appening on the Ovi Store. With over 1.7 million downloads a day, what better way to reach the masses than to create a 1GOAL app. It’s pretty simple. Download the free app, and it’ll magically create a picture of you and your chosen 1GOAL ambassador. Personally, I don’t think the app suffers from not being an all-dancing, all-singing whizzbang of an app, the message is simple enough. Nokia’s creating a platform to raise awareness of this worthy cause, just downloading the app and signing-up to the 1GOAL campaign shows your support.

Along with Nokia, 1GOAL is backed by over 100 organisations in over 100 countries, including FIFA, some of the biggest names in football as well as celebrities and politicians. It’s not only the big shots getting involved: it already has eight million signed up to support it and over 180 ambassadors including Pele and the French wonder-boy Zinadine Zidane.

If you fancy your pic with the stars of the footballing world, or just want to show your support for the 1GOAL campaign, the app is available now on Ovi Store and is compatible with Symbian 3rd and 5th edition.
