GLOBAL – Just a quick post to draw your attention to the voting taking place over on the Ovi Daily App blog. Normally, their main focus is introducing you to the latest apps to appear on Ovi Store, but since last Wednesday and continuing until the end of December, they’re also conducting a mega-poll to uncover the must-have apps of 2010. More details after the jump.

They’ve divided all the nominated apps into six categories:

  • Games
  • Social Networking
  • Music
  • Entertainment
  • Utilities
  • Business & Productivity

The apps on the list are all compatible with Series 60 phones, like the Nokia N97 and Nokia X6, so some of the newer Symbian^3-only apps are missing – but this poll is for the best of 2010 and it was decided that this would be fairer for the developers who’ve been working hard over the course of the whole year. The results will be announced on January 5.

Go and vote now to make sure that your favourites achieve their rightful positions at the top of the list. If you need further inducement, the person who predicts all six winning apps will receive a fully-loaded Nokia N8 with the winners pre-installed.

Here’s the Ovi Daily App editor Jason introducing the proceedings (we knew the winters were hard over in Finland, but can you believe it’s even snowing indoors?).
