GLOBAL – When you’ve got a state-of-the-art entertainment phone sitting in your pocket, it’s a shame that it’s not always easy to share your photos, videos and music. Of course, your Nokia phone probably comes with a 3.5mm AV jack or even HDMI output for use with the nearest television. But wouldn’t it be great if you could do all that wirelessly? Yes, it would – and now you can, with the new Nokia Play To app.

Nokia Play To is a free, brand new app that entered beta this week. It enables showing the photos and videos you’ve stored in your phone using your home TV, and playing your favourite music through your home stereo system. It’s cool, fun and hassle-free.

Are you a lucky owner of Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01 or Nokia X7? Great, you have the most important piece to make it all happen. In addition, you need a WLAN router and DLNA capable products you connect to your home network. So, how to set up the DLNA home network? It’s easy; just follow the steps shown in the Nokia Beta Labs webpage where you can download the Nokia Play To app.

After setting up your network, launch the Nokia Play To app on your phone and it automatically searches for DLNA devices you have connected in your home network. Select the content you want to play from your phone by using the Photos, Videos and Music buttons on the screen. Sit back, and enjoy your captured moments and grooviest tunes reproduced by those bigger and louder home devices!

Products that are DLNA Certified are able to work together using the wireless network in your house, enabling enjoyable and easy media sharing. You can find the list of DLNA Certified devices on the DLNA home pages.
