GLOBAL – You might not realize it, but you don’t need an Amazon Kindle ebook reader to enjoy a good story on the go.

In fact, you can enjoy the world’s biggest online bookstore entirely from your Nokia Lumia 800, via a free app available at the Marketplace on your handset.

 Get all the latest titles

Once you have downloaded the Amazon Kindle app for Windows Phone, simply register your device by logging in to your Amazon account.

Then go to archived items to see books that are already in your library and download the ones you want to read on your Lumia.

The Home screen on the app shows which books you have downloaded. And when you open one up it lands on the last page you read, even if it was on another device.

Go to the Kindle Store page to buy a new ebook. You can also get a sample chapter to try before you buy.

legibility is great

When you try or buy, you just have to log in to your account and decide where to send the book.

There’s also a selection of free popular classics, including authors such as Jane Austen (Pride and Prejudice), Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes) and Charles Dickens (A Christmas Carol).

It’s pretty easy to read an ebook on your Lumia (especially in landscape mode), but you can customize the type size in settings on the page you are reading.
