NokiaTube: where in the world?

Welcome to a new weekly feature here at Nokia Connects, aptly named ‘NokiaTube: where in the world?’. Everybody loves YouTube and if you are reading this it’s probably safe to say you like Nokia, so we decided to fuse the two together. There is a wealth of awesome Nokia video content around the world, so we are now on a hunt to bring you our favourites each week.

Nokia – South Africa

Lets start by taking a trip to the Nokia South Africa YouTube page. Our ‘Beyond Ordinary’ campaign showcased normal people that do extraordinary things with the help of their Nokia smartphones. As part of the campaign we followed extreme adventurer David Grier undertaking one of his many grueling challenges in the name of his foundation – Miles for Smiles. David founded Miles for Smiles to raise funds through various adventures for Operation Smile, an initiative that aims to restore the right to smile to children born with cleft lips and palates.

‘Each of my journeys has been so different, so unpredictable, littered with lessons. Ultimately a journey will always etch a scar on ones life as it passes and that’s the lesson that you take from it’

David has literally been everywhere, he has walked the Wall of China, travelled from Mozambique to Madagascar on a solo multi-disciplinary mission and travelled the whole of India by foot promoting his cause. On every trip David takes photos that are geo-tagged, a function that allows those people following him online to see the amazing places he has travelled to.

Nokia – India

Here is a little something for all you petrol heads out there. Have you ever wanted to control your own car using a mobile phone, just like James Bond did? Well a couple of guys from a Bangalore research laboratory set out to do exactly that using their Nokia handsets. This video was posted earlier this month on the Nokia India YouTube page, but we also managed to find a couple of other guys from Asia (on their own YouTube channel) who had a similar idea for their Nokia phone.

So, if you see any great content on your country’s Nokia YouTube page then please let us know about it @Nokia_Connects and we will endeavour to highlight it to the community every Friday. Have a great weekend everyone, what are your plans? 🙂
