Nokia Lumia 900 preview

It lit up CES 2012 by winning more awards than the Nokia team could carry home (this, of course, isn’t true – the team treasured each and every one of them) the Nokia Lumia 900 has been undeniably the highlight of the new year.

Tech Radar’s Nic Vargus was at CES and managed to get some time with the Lumia 900 and his thoughts form a comparison with the Lumia 710 and Lumia 800 that he had previously spent some time with:

‘Unlike the 800, the 900 comes with a gorgeous 4.3-inch AMOLED – a noticeable step up from the 800’s 3.7-inch screen. Both have a 800 x 480 pixel screen resolution. While opinions on the extra size will be divided, we thought it felt even better than the 800 in our hands and made Windows Phone 7 more crisp and exciting than on the 800.’

There’s an interesting question posed on the UK-based mobilespleaseblog – could the Nokia Lumia 900 be the best phone of 2012?

‘…there are many competitors and not all entries are in yet [but] there has been a clear winner at the CES event. The Nokia Lumia 900 was officially announced and with the impressive display of features and power we think this phone is definitely one to consider as the best smartphone of 2012.’

The comparisons to other phones have already started, even before anyone has their hands on one (spec sheet analysis comparisons, clearly), so the competition is heating up.

Finally, just because it’s an excuse to see it again, here’s the #ChanseWin video – the first hands on:

Excited for the Lumia 900? What’s the main feature you’ll be looking forward to trying out? Let us know in the usual ways (comment, @Nokia_Connects, carrier pigeon, smoke signal…)
