Lights illuminate Stcokmann store

HELSINKI, Finland – This week sees the launch of the Nokia Lumia 800 in the city where it was conceived. As with other launches across the planet, the occasion called for a light show. This time around it was the windows of Stockmann, Helsinki’s biggest department store, that played host.

Check out the photos below, taken from the statue of the ‘Three Smiths’, which marks the centre of Helsinki.

this is actually mid-afternoon during Finnish winter

This morning there was a free breakfast served at the Nokia Flagship store in Helsinki, which opened for sales at 7am on this special day. There will be special events and giveaways throughout the day.

The Nokia Lumia 800 comes to Finland specially equipped with games and apps for the Finnish market. Notably, Finnish people will be able to check out the latest ice hockey results direct from the home screen.

Larger versions of the pictures are available to download and there’s a bunch more photographs on the Nokia Finland Facebook page.
