The awards are showcasing some of the best independent films of this year – including 50/50, Drive and Martha Marcy May Marlene – and are happening in a marquee on Santa Monica beach on Saturday 25th February (I know, some people get all the luck).
What is more exciting though is that Nokia is running a competition for independent filmmakers with 3 Lumia 800’s, specially adapted steadicam rigs, and mobile lenses to give away. One lucky winner will win all of that plus $5,000 to fund their own film! It’s really easy to enter, you just need to make a video of yourself answering 4 questions and submit it on this Facebook page. The competition is open now and will close on Wednesday 22nd February with winners announced on Friday 24th February. You can also vote on existing entries from Monday and watch the videos shot by the nominees shot on Lumia 800’s. Pretty cool right?
