Photo news – Nokia 808 PureView and a new Nokia Lumia app

Photography Week rolls on here at Nokia Connects (try having a look at #NCPhotoWeek for more info) and it’s time to share some news on what’s what in the Nokia photography world.

Damian Dinning (camera guru) has been talking to Amateur Photographer and the focus (pun very much intended) for the future seems to be on getting better performance in low light situations. In his chat with Chris Cheesman, Damian highlighted this and camera shake to be ‘key’ in the battle with traditional digital cameras. Let’s face it, who carries a point and shoot with them nowadays? He also said that there needs to be a shift away from the fixation with megapixels, concentrating instead on how those pixels are used (like the ‘oversampling’ that has been introduced in the Nokia 808 PureView.

For those of you who like to play around with your pics after you’ve snapped them, here’s something that might shift your focus (yes, I did it again). Mobiletor are reporting that an upcoming app from Creative Studios for the Nokia Lumia family of phones will allow you to add a filter as you are taking a snap, not afterwards. So that’s new.

What’s the best effect you’ve added to a photo after you’ve taken it? Share them with us @Nokia_Connects, and don’t forget to use #NCphotoweek
