Sunnyvale, CA, United States – It’s exciting times for Nokia here in North America. After months of waiting, we launched the Nokia Lumia 900 with an epic show in Times Square featuring superstar Nicki Minaj.
The Nokia Lumia 900 has received lots of love from the press, hailing it as top contender in a very competitive space. More importantly, we’re super excited about all the positive user reviews out there on places like Amazon.com.
As reported here earlier, not everything has been going exactly as planned. On Tuesday, we announced that we discovered a software issue with the Nokia Lumia 900. We’ve got a fix coming up and you should be able to update your phone on or around April 16 with Zune for Windows or Windows Phone Connector for Mac.
Customer satisfaction is at the heart of everything we do here at Nokia and, as a limited gesture, Nokia will automatically give any Nokia Lumia 900 customer a $100 credit on their AT&T or Rogers bill.
If you can’t find the Nokia Lumia 900 in stock at any of your local AT&T stores, we want to stress that you’ll still receive the $100 credit if you purchase the phone without taking it home.
Purchase the device before midnight April 21st, with or without the phone, and automatically receive $100 to your AT&T or Rogers bill.
We continue to get a lot of great feedback from users and the press, and it makes us even more fired up for what will be a very exciting year for Nokia in North America.
Sam Biddle of Gizmodo calls the Lumia 900 a fantastic phone:
“Those who haven’t pulled the trigger yet can pick up a brand new 900 for $0 with the credit. All of this is assuming you’re ready for an AT&T hardware upgrade, of course.”
Kelly Clay from Forbes points out that the $100 credit makes the Nokia Lumia 900 a viable choice for even more consumers:
“Not only will everyone who has already purchased the phone receive the rebate, but the fact the phone is practically now free to anyone who purchases the Lumia 900 (until April 21) may entice unlikely AT&T customers to try the new Lumia 900 at no risk.”
We’ve working hard to get the software update ready on or near April 16, complete with easy-to-follow update instructions.
We’re also hearing that the gorgeous white Nokia Lumia 900s are scheduled to begin arriving as early as next week. We know that a lot of people can’t wait to rock the white model and that includes just about everybody here at Conversations.
