Num num! Pac Man bites back as a movie



Thirty years ago nobody made movies based upon games. If they had then you can bet your cotton socks that Pac Man would have got the Hollywood treatment. Developed by Japanese game company Namco in 1980, the yellow chomping ball has became synonymous with video gaming. Yet it’s only now Pac Man has been taken from arcade game screen to film screen, courtesy of Director James Farr of Steelehouse Digital. His 7-minute fan film, called ‘Project Yellow Sphere’, underlines not just our enduring love for this Eighties pop culture icon, but how easy it is for anyone with a passion to make a movie.
