D'oh! The Simpsons redesigned as chairs

20th century Modernist designers were driven by a very puritan ethos. The principles that “form follows function, ornament is a crime” were central to their work and caused them to celebrate industrial artifacts like steel water towers as brilliantly beautiful examples of plain, simple design. I think we can safely assume, then, that they wouldn’t have been very impressed with chairs designed to look like cartoon characters. Although, here at Nokia Connects, we appreciate the modernist philosophy, we’re also suckers for The Simpsons. Plus, we spend a lot of time sitting down. This combo means we give Caricature as furniture, designed by 56th Studio, the big thumbs up. Ever wanted to sit on Homer? Now’s your chance. To put a smile on your face, check out the rest of the family at the link above.
