SUNNYVALE, CA, United States – The United States is full of sports nuts. Some of us love football (the kind with the oval shaped ball), others are into basketball – but almost everyone has a sport they follow on a regular basis.

One group of sports fans that are really passionate are those who follow college sports. As fans, we want to know what’s going on with our team and our players. Likely the most competitive college conference, the Southeastern Conference, just received a new app in the Windows Marketplace.

The Official SEC Mobile App was built in partnership between Nokia and XOS Digital, a sports video technology company. The app gives SEC fans access to original video content, SEC team schedules for all conference sports and live scores, stats, standing and detailed rosters for games while in session.

I, for one, am a huge consumer of sports apps, especially those that show me what matches are going on over the weekend, and I love checking scores on my mobile on Saturday football gamedays in the Fall.

The Official SEC app is perfect for fans of the conference because of its amazing video content that can be watched over an LTE, 3G or Wi-Fi.

College sports fans around the US will be happy to know that new apps are coming out for other conferences including the BIG EAST conference, Mid-American Conference, West Coast Conference and Conference USA.
