Battery That 'Breathes'

This battery from IBM breathes in oxygen, and then recharges by expelling oxygen. Really. The power comes literally from thin air (well, thin air has less oxygen, but regular air is fine). The claim is that a battery such as this could power a car for 500 miles. That will let you drive from Land’s End to Carlisle in the U.K., or Boston to Washington D.C. in the U.S. Wow.
