1. The World’s Biggest Human Smiley
Yes, you heard right. April 27 saw the creation of the world’s biggest human smiley on a soccer pitch at a university in Nanjing, China. The smiley was made with help of 3,110 people – that’s a lot of smiles!
2. May Day
The first of May is celebrated in many countries around the world, and is an ancient Spring festival which in the Northern Hemisphere dates back to the Celts. Not your ordinary beauty contest, Miss Gay Nicaragua is a competition to choose “the queen of the transvestites”. 22-year-old designer Laveleska Dredrish, who vowed to continue fighting for LGBT rights across the world, was crowned the winner.
