Digital immortality

via Fred Klonsky

Did you see that Tupac was brought back to life at Coachella last month (if you didn’t which rock have you been hiding under)? Well this performance opened the door to the silo of digital immorality, the notion that your past can be digitally humanised and brought back to the present.

In this article the author discusses the Tupac hologram performance, how the famous film critic Roger Ebert (alive and living, unlike Tupac – if you don’t believe what you read that is) used a Scottish company to bring back his voice after he lost it to cancer, plus everything from digital doppelgangers to Cylons and robot immortality! I can guarantee it will blow your tiny human mind.
