Robot fish: planet saver

via E&T

Na na, na na, na na na na na na. I take great pleasure introducing you to the cool, robotic and planet saving cousin of Jaws. This pollution-tracking robot fish was recently released into the sea off the coast of Spain and is designed to, yes you’ve guessed it, detect pollution.

The fish has sensors attached to it so it can trasmit data a few miles away to a research centre, it costs around $31,600 and helps to survey large areas of water that would usually take weeks to examine, in just a few seconds. So don’t panic if you see one whilst swimming in Spain!
