Japan Transit System Tests NFC-Based Ads | News & Opinion | PCMag.com

Shunkosha, a Japan-based firm, has developed a new way of delivering ads and information to passengers on public transportation. The technology is called, wait for it, Strappy. What is Strappy, you ask? It will allow passengers to simply touch compatible mobile devices to the casing covering a train/bus strap and “get immediate access to the content being delivered to that NFC point”. I can’t wait till passengers on crowded subway trains around the world are leaning over each to find out what the weather will be like when they exit the train.
