Nokia 110

Alongside the Nokia experts sharing their Start screens over the recent Christmas period, we’ve also asked the Mobile Phone division to share their favourites from our launches of 2012.

First up is Neil Broadley, who is a technology marketing director, and best known to Conversations as a mobile guru when it comes to Asha and mobile phones.

So what’s his favourite pick? Big drum roll, please, for the… Nokia 110.

Nokia 110

Who would you recommend this phone to?

I would recommend this phone to everyone – in fact I use it myself. It is the perfect vacation phone. When I’ve finished work and I no longer need Mail for Exchange I put my beautiful Nokia Asha 311 to one side and use the Nokia 110 as my second phone. I have a yellow one!

Why? It packs everything I need – Internet, Facebook, Twitter. It’s also incredibly well-made so it stands up to the inevitable drops and bumps as I play with my two sons, and has a great battery life so I can go weeks on one charge.

What do you think is the one unique feature in this phone?

For this type of entry level feature phone it has to be the Nokia Store. Where else can you get 40 free EA Games, and access to thousands more, all via our Nokia app store? Pretty important for when Dad has forgotten to charge the Nintendo DSs!

What’s the killer app you recommend on this phone?

The Nokia Xpress Browser. It gives me easy access to my favourite websites like the BBC and Autosport while I’m away and because it uses the cloud to compress the web page. It works really well over whatever cellular network I find myself on. If I’ve been good, I might even be abroad and therefore roaming – so it saves me money too.
