Riccardo Webb – my Windows Phone 8 Start Screen

Riccardo Webb is a Social Media Experience Manager at Nokia and is partly responsible for some of the social activities that Nokia is involved in. What’s on his Start screen? Social stuff like Twitter or Facebook? Let’s take a look.

What apps have you prioritised and why?

“Well, the only two big squares on my Start screen are for my personal and work email accounts. Contacts, Messaging and making calls all come second…funny thing isn’t it? Today most notifications, whether from Twitter, Facebook, email or IM come through to my email account which is why I’ve made these the focus of my Start screen.”

“The most useful app on my Start screen is probably the settings button, easy to access so I can change Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, flight mode settings etc. The most useless app on my Start screen are probably those images of Nintendo games you see, but hey, they make me smile every time I unlock my screen.”

What apps do you use to pass the time?

“I load up Nokia music and play Eye of the Tiger and also fire up Plants vs Zombies! “

What is the last app you paid for, and what does it do?

“I paid for RSS Central, an app that downloads and displays my RSS feeds which bring me news stories I actually care about; instead of celebrity gossip and people having babies.”

Which app(s) is your guilty pleasure?

“I’d have to say Cinemagraph and Pinspiration Pro. One for doing fun things when you’re sitting somewhere boring, and the other to find a little inspiration for a tattoo design I’ve been working on for the last 4 months.”
