One of the many reasons that the family of Nokia Lumia smartphones is such a good choice for business is because of their excellent security features.

The good people at Nokia Care have created a video, which you can watch above, highlighting a few of security settings in Windows Phone 8 and how they can be used.

The video starts with a basic tip to lock your screen with a password, which I imagine a lot of people are already doing.

I think the real value of this video is the later tutorial outlining how you can find a lost phone and how you can control it remotely.

Find your Phone

Hopefully, you’ll never find yourself in a situation where your phone has been misplaced, lost or stolen in the first place.

However, it is mighty encouraging to know that these easy steps are available. The video shows how to locate your missing phone and then how you can make it ring, send it a message or lock it.

There is also the option of erasing the device altogether to protect all the personal information that you have stored on it.

While each one of these steps is straightforward, seeing the different screenshots and watching the process unfold in the video on an actual device and on a computer was really reassuring.

Losing your smartphone is traumatic anyway, so understanding and knowing exactly what the process looks can only help to ensure that everything goes smoothly.

Best for Business

Underlining the Nokia Lumia’s great business credentials is one further security feature if your device is lost. This is using Microsoft Outlook in your workplace to remotely erase the device.

All these security features provide great peace of mind for everyone using a Nokia Lumia whether it is for personal or business use.
