Nokia is extending the much-loved Asha family with a new generation of beautifully designed Asha smartphones.

The first one out of the gate is the Nokia Asha 501, built on the new Asha platform, which makes it amazingly smooth to operate.

What you’ll first notice is the standout design that’s been inspired by the Nokia Lumia range. Just like the Lumia, the Asha 501 will also be available in a choice of bold and bright colours.

Secondly, there’s the innovative Fastlane screen, which means you are never more than a quick swipe away from accessing all the things you really love.

The Asha 501 also offers a smarter, more personal and affordable way of using the Internet. The Nokia Xpress browser has been given an overhaul for the Asha 501 and offers a better experience than ever before. Of course, it still compresses the data by up to 90%, which makes it both smarter and cheaper for you to get online.

The Asha 501 is the first of a new family of Asha handsets that gives people the opportunity to own an innovative, high quality smartphone at an affordable price.
