More than 6,000 Windows and Windows Phone developers from around the world will converge in San Francisco this week for Microsoft’s largest annual developer conference and technical training event known as BUILD. Naturally, Nokia will be there in full force, helping mobile app developers to see how easy it is to “build” better apps for Nokia Lumia devices.
Nokia will be leading in-depth technical sessions during BUILD to help developers make the most of the Windows Phone platform and create engaging experiences that differentiate their apps in the marketplace This includes a presentation on Wednesday with a top Nokia engineer who will give a walk-through of Nokia’s Imaging APIs to access the camera, control functions and integrate with Gallery and Lenses features found in Nokia Lumia smartphones; and a presentation on Thursday to show developers how they can easily port Nokia Music from Windows Phone to Windows 8 – all using the same code.
Nokia will also have a kiosk at BUILD where developers will be able to get hands-on time with the latest Nokia Lumia devices, learn about app merchandising and the advantages of developing mobile apps for Windows Phone with Nokia.
Getting the inside scoop
Additionally, leading developers working with Nokia will be announcing some great new apps this week at BUILD (you will have to wait for details – we don’t want to ruin the surprise).
Attendees at BUILD will also have the opportunity to jump-start their Windows Phone app development by signing up with DVLUP, Nokia’s web-based community and rewards program exclusively for Windows Phone developers.
Keep up with BUILD this week
Remember to follow Nokia’s @DVLUP and @nokiadeveloper on Twitter for the latest happenings to come out of BUILD this week – they will both be live tweeting from the conference, sharing all of the cool things they find.
