Jimmy Lee's Start Screen

Jimmy Lee is an editor at NokiaInnovation.com, a portal for all things Nokia related.

He joined the website back in 2010 after being approached by its owner and editor-in-chief, @LennyBons34, to write a quick hands on review of the Nokia N8.

Jimmy says:

“Currently, I am using a Nokia Lumia 925 as my main device. I really love how it doesn’t look anything like the Lumia 928 or Lumia 920. It has the metal body with a white back. I do miss built-in wireless charging but l’ll be using the PowerKiss microUSB ring to charge it up wirelessly on the JBL PowerUp.”

This is Jimmy’s start screen on the Lumia 925.

Which apps have you prioritised and why?

I try to group apps with a similar theme, so it will be easier for me to find them. I left the people and photo tiles larger because they are the ones I use the most.

I am a big music fan and listen to anything from R&B, pop, country, 90s Cantonese (canto pop) music, house and it’s great to have the ability to create offline mixes with different genres. I was surprised to find out that there is handful of Canto pop songs available on Nokia Music.

I use WordPress to create Nokia Innovation posts on the fly. This app is also great for updating posts as well. Uploading media to our host’s media server is a breeze.

I use Viber and Skype occasionally – I think it is awesome to use these two services to make VOIP calls with Europe, Asia or South America

When I am not familiar with an address, I use Here Drive+ to get me to the place and combined with the ProClipUSA custom mount for Lumia, I can easily switch orientation or angle if I need to.

What apps do you use to pass the time?

Abby in Wonderland. This is a great app from Sesame Workshop, which keeps my daughter entertained when we are at a restaurant waiting for our meal to arrive or in the mall waiting for my wife to finish shopping.

What’s the last app you paid for?

My last purchased app is Runtastic Pro ($4.99).  Since I started using the Fitbit One, I have been trying to keep track of my daily walks, elliptical and other activities.

Runtastic Pro is a great app that keeps track of indoor and outdoor activities. It definitely keeps me motivated to live a healthier lifestyle one day at a time. It’s a great bargain for a personal fitness app.

Which app is your guilty pleasure?

Despicable Minions. I just discovered this app from one of my Twitter followers. My 2-year-old daughter is a big Despicable Me 2 fan and with a handful of other toddler apps I downloaded, I can keep her occupied.
