Last week, we brought you a list of our must-have apps to take full advantage of the imaging capabilities of the new Nokia Lumia 1020. Today, we’re pleased to share what we’re calling “the essentials” – apps you’ll need on the Nokia Lumia 1020 for when you’re not taking photos.

1. HERE Maps

HERE Maps can get you from your front door to your final destination, even if that means a particular shop inside a mall, or a gate number at an airport – all thanks to the incorporated Venue Maps.

2. GoPro

Yes, we realize you’re reading a Nokia Conversations blog post at this very moment! However, pop this app on your Lumia smartphone and stay up-to-date on Nokia news – including tips on new apps – hot off the presses!


7. Skype
Windows Phone users can utilize Skype in a new way, as users can integrate the app directly into your People Hub. This allows you to connect via Skype with friends, family and colleagues right within your contact list.


8. Voxer
Voxer transforms your Lumia 1020 into a virtual ‘walkie-talkie,’ allowing for instant voice messages back-and-forth between devices. 10-4 – over and out!


9. Netflix

15. Domino’s Pizza
Closing it out with a guilty pleasure: gooey, cheesy pizza goodness from Domino’s. Order directly through the app and then use the tracker to see where it is en route.


16. ESPN Fantasy Football
The pigskin is whistling through the air again at training camps across the U.S. and that means football season is right around the corner. Of course, it also means that football fanatics the world over will be huddling up in their own personal war rooms to draft a championship-caliber fantasy football team, and ESPN has you covered this season on Windows Phone.


17. Hulu Plus
Hulu Plus offers unlimited instant streaming of current hit TV shows and acclaimed movies. Plus, by adding Hulu Plus to Kid’s Corner on your Lumia device, you’ll get instant access to kids content including SpongeBob SquarePants, iCarly, Caillou, and many more top shows.
